Kuki Shuzo: A Philosopher's Poetry and Poetics Shuzo Kuki, Michael F. Marra University of Hawaii Press. Kuki Shuzo (1888-1941), one of Japan's most original thinkers of the twentieth century, is best known for his interpretations of Western Continental philosophy. His works on and of poetry are less well known but equally illuminating. During his eight years studying in Europe in the 1920s, Kuki spent time in Paris, where he wrote several collections of poetry: Paris Mindscapes (1925), Fragments (1927), Sleep Talking in Paris (1926), Windows of Paris (1925), andmany short poems in the tanka style. Included in this volume are these Paris poems as well as other verses that Kuki appended to a long essay on poetry, University of Hawaii Press. Другое человечество. Здесь кто-то побывал до нас... Алексей Маслов Феникс. Невозможные цивилизации. Современное человечество не является ни Феникс. Невозможные цивилизации. Современное человечество не является ни "венцом творения", ни результатом долгой эволюции. Оно вообще возникло, кажется, ниоткуда и внезапно. А до нас на этой земле жило много видов человечеств. И ни один их тех, кого мы считаем нашим предком, не был даже нашим "родственником". И эти — сообщества людей — оказались значительно более успешными, чем мы сами, и прожили они в десятки раз больше, чем сегодня существуем мы. Кажется, разные виды человечества возникают и исчезают на земле циклическим образом: человечество "обнуляется", приходит к своему началу, и все начинается вновь. Они не были "тупиковыми" ветвями. Вполне возможно, что "тупиковыми" как раз являемся мы... Так откуда же взялось современное человечество? И суждено ли ему стремительно исчезнуть?...
